Committee Goals/Objectives (charge):

  • Under the direction of the Executive Board, provide for the detailed study and learning of State & Federal Finance and Legislative Issues including the implications for special education administration.
  • Recommend MAASE Position and Input Statements to the Executive Board and Legislative Action Committee.
  • Propose additions/deletions to the official MAASE Legislative Platform.
  • Establish and maintain a “MAASE Finance & Legislative Resource Center” on the MAASE Website.

  • Dates: October 19, December 4, February 12, April 9, June 11
  • Time: noon- 1 pm
  • Location: Crown Plaza Hotel, 925 South Creyts Road, Lansing, MI 48917
  • Attendance: Finance and Legislation is a standing committee open to all MAASE members
  • Guest Attendance: Students and others interested in issues related to Special Education Finance and Legislation are welcome to attend as a MAASE guest with prior notice to the chair.
