Anyone using this as a resource is encouraged to use their best judgement in interpreting the suggestions.

Notes:
-
Spotlight-when PSAT first came out guidance was given that there was no alternative test. email MDE to ask for updated guidance statement around PSAT. 8th grade is fully paper pencil
-
Thursday Spotlight recommends submitting to the state for 8th grade, not the college board, this was also discussed at SI
-
Reviewing data post PSAT to see if the accommodations in 8th grade were adequate
-
Make sure to sign-up for the Spotlight
-
Districts are reviewing student level data to see if there are ways to come in compliance with 1% cap. How does this align with IEP decisions? Are teams moving proficient students from alternate assessment
-
Original message was that children that are functioning as if….and determined by subject. Some ISDs are giving guidance that they will not give MI-Access for single subjects
-
County vs. District data
-
MI-Access students should typically be certificate of completion track
-
Oakland did data analysis with MSDS input for the districts to see what patterns of assessment and service delivery exist across the county
-
MDE will not define “significant” cognitive impairment
-
How are assessment decisions being made for 3rd grade? Do districts have students start with M-Step and collect data to determine future assessment choices? Mild CI/SLD?
-
Programming is also very different throughout the state
-
Michigan is one of the few states that assesses students falling below FI
-
Why are we still assessing students on e-GLCEs?
-
Pending legislation the projected % would be rolled back to 25% instead of 40% in regards to teacher evaluation
